Melissa Hensel, LCSW

Melissa has 14 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents and adults in family service agencies, schools, health clinics and psychiatric departments. She combines cognitive behavioral therapy with mindfulness interventions in her work with clients. In addition to her therapy services, she provides clinical supervision to associate professionals looking to obtain hours towards their licensure goal. She also offers clinical consultation to practicing health professionals.

She is a member of the Complementary & Integrative Practitioner’s Network, a nonprofit organization increasing education and awareness of health options including nutrition, acupressure, acupuncture, massage, and other holistic wellness services. Melissa, in partnership with Chill Sacramento, is leading the development and implementation of a school-based mindfulness program. This positive behavior change and well-being program is a foundation for teachers and students in creating an environment to enhance mental focus, self-awareness and emotional resilience. Using mindfulness techniques, both students and teachers will learn how to bring their minds, hearts and bodies into healthy rhythm.
